special makeup effects artist

How does one become a special effects artist?
I've been doing horror movies for a while (cuts, scrapes, wounds shooting, etc.) I'm very creative with these things and enjoy it. I even take him to school! I just want ideas on how to become a makeup artist for film in general. I just do not always do things that are scary. Any ideas?
Hi Alisha There is a difference between the effects of conventional makeup and makeup artists, and skill sets do not overlap, but once you get into the makeup effects and hearing at an advanced level, skills branch off into a completely different path participation of the sculpture, mold making and working with materials. A sight to see this work takes place at first glance seems more akin to the construction and sculpture. Most artists would be able to make the effects of minor damage, but things are more involved with dentures or a large creature costumes different department. You do not say where in the world you are, but classes are more likely to make about you that you can attend. I suggest getting a first book that comes to speed and give you a broader view of work and it takes you. Good books are: Stage makeup effects and special displays: PRODUCTION AND HEARING REQUEST By Todd Debreceni ISBN: 978-0240809960 A complete guide of makeup SPECIAL EFFECTS: Conceptual Artwork Japanese makeup Graphic Sha ISBN-13: 978-4766118339 technical professional makeup artist for film, TV and directed by Vincent Kehoe ISBN: 0-240-51244-8 stage makeup (7 th edition) by Richard Corson ISBN: 0-13-840521-2 ISBN Front Kevyn Aucoin: 0-316-28705-9 faces by Kevyn Aucoin DECISION ISBN: 1-85375-263-0 THREE TECHNIQUES DIMENSIONS OF MAKEUP Baygan By Lee ISBN: 0-8230-5261-3 CHARACTER Designery makeup ISBN: 978-0974950006 people doing strange things sometimes track her hands covered gypsum molds, and vice versa. Not that you can mix and match tracks, effects, and the theater – its more the other going for a particular way to become more involved in this niche, and increasingly specialized. It can be "certified" by a Board of Directors and still be totally unemployed. Of course, schools that make the money will leave the course to focus on that. If you wanted to specialize in makeup effects and prosthetics, for example, most of the work is out of play and away from the actor in a workshop or industrial unit. The last set of applications in person is a small part of a much larger, is still often the only part that people focus. I have some free tutorials and a mini ecourse prosthesis invite you to: http://www.learnprostheticmakeup.com/page9.htm Like any Race is not the "paper" the way, but must be supported by a realistic and appropriate for the industry to which it refers. Makeup effects and prosthetics is a very different from the conventional a makeup artist. There are "make-up effects" Of course, all the makeup artists must be able to do as sweat, minor injuries and the effects of a disease, for example. However, once this becomes more severe and require prostheses or more severe distortions is usually outsourced to a specialist. This specialist is likely to be subcontracted never an underarm wax and stained with a tab in your life. I think it's best to talk with working professionals who ensure relevant training is and discover what is best for learning outside conventional academic qualifications. Which varies from region to region. I work and live in the UK, and how the industry operates is different States. Moreover, unions tend to decide who can work on the set or a workshop and to what degree are involved. These guarantees are in place to maintain levels of skill, but also do harm to get your foot in the door. Check http://makeupmag.com/faqmain/. Fairs are also organized several times a year around the world (see http://www.makeupartistshow.com/). It is worth going to, they can meet and talk with people face to face about their intentions. Is a large gathering of kindred spirits, and most of the major schools are there to make demonstrations and often have 'show' offers and discounts. There is also a link on the page make-up school mag. Whoever you go with, check online to see if anyone has anything bad to say about them. If you want a career in film and television also suggest that you run the name through tutors http://www.imdb.com/ and see what credits they have in their name. Many teach at the same time have not really done it themselves in the industry. Http: / / www.learnprostheticmakeup.com/ Stuart
