How should I Style Vintage makeup for prom?

My dress is ivory / white robe. Empire waist. It has a black flower between her breasts and straps black-tie behind the neck like a noose. The dress has no spark, so I go with my pearl earrings and naturally wavy / curly hair. The total vintage look. My hair is black. For makeup, I thought subtle red. Ideas?
