Help Mod The Sims? I'm so confused ..?

I feel so stupid for not being able to understand this myself. I really want to use mods The Sims 3. So I started to use Mod The Sims. I did everything you told me how to sections. does not work (helpermonkey downloaded WinRAR, etc.) I can download custom sims with MTS, but I give the composition as clothing, hair and all that comes from the custom of the sim. The mods do not work at all. I tried the skin mods and cursors. Nothing works): I know that at some point did something wrong. But I have no idea why. I've checked through everything. I have no idea what I did wrong, or what not. I really really want use mods. So if anyone can, if you please tell me something I could do wrong, or give me a list or something. Just put in stupid for me (: lol If it's important, I have Windows 7 and I have only major Thurs Sims 3 (no expansion packs or stuff) Thanks xx

No I have the Sims 3, but the sims 2 use Mod The Sims all the time ([great site btw:). However, if the download of The Sims 3 is something like that is for the sims 2, the most often what is wrong is that you need to download other custom content (or CC) for these things in his game show, which often is not included with the SIM card. However, it can be in game and looking in the wrong place, sometimes these things get your Sims to yourself. Hope this helps.
