Can anyone tell me if you use mineral makeup when they have their photos taken?

I read an article where the author a makeup artist, says that no matter what the lighting, mineral makeup does not do well in the photographs and some mineral makeup people end up by having a strange ghostly glow on your skin. I have an upcoming event that I wonder if I should spend the mineral makeup this time to avoid a strange complexion immortalized in photo albums. Are there makeup artists cosmetics or others that I can say about this? Thank you.
