Why dont more straight men wear makeup?

I don’t see why makeup is more socially acceptable for females rather than males. I understand there are different ‘looks’ both genders go for but why cant men apply concealer/foundation or even countouring/highlighting… etc. Men can tan all they like but how about makeup? I don’t see the difference. And I’m reffering to everyday life. Let me know what you think.

Because of the stereotypes modern society has imposed on the straight male. In ancient societies like Egypt, India, China, Japan, Greece etc. men of the high classes wore almost as much makeup as their women as it was a sign of their status. Even up to 19th century, European men wore make up just as the women did. Just as long hair in the 20th century became a ‘woman’ thing only make up has as well. How that happened I don’t know.

I for one do not like makeup at all or anything to put on my skin. Even hand lotion make my skin feel icky.
