How to remove mascara without using makeup?

I always clean my mascara with Vaseline or shower, and it worked pretty well. I heard Vaseline buttons causes, and my face began to get acne in their eyes and cheeks. I am also losing eyelashes! I have not worn makeup in two weeks because I'm afraid I'll lose more lashes. Help me!
