makeup shopping websites

What is the best and cheapest way to advertise a new site?
Last year, I created a new gift shop online. I knew nothing about creating websites and shopping carts, but have learned a lot in the process and loved it. I have several categories in my store: one is for men who need help buying the women in their lives with a keepsake gift packaging and free gift registry, another focuses on the teacher observes the child time, other categories such as handbags and cosmetic bags and Baby / New Mom. I registered with some online directories that list your site free, but now feel I have to go into a sort of paid advertising, because I'm still not much traffic or sales. I also have 3 campaigns GoogleAds at the time. Can anyone tell me what is the most cost affective to promote a site and its products. There are many options out there at varying prices. By the way whose Web web is http://www.tayana.com.au All comments will be greatly appreciated.
This is what I did. Go to a site that lets you create a free banner as http://www.addesigner.com/ (I used, and is really good). Then go to a good exchange program http://www.thebannerexchange.net/signup Banner like this one …. You can upload your banner to your site web and simply place a snippet of code on your website and voila, you have a banner exchange! This means that your ad will be in some other peoples websites and that it is someone elses put on yours. It worked for me and did not take long to do. I hope that helps!
