Members of the Broward School Board agreed to leave once the Insurance Advisory Committee Tuesday coveted, the result of escalating criticism of health insurance rates and permanent control over the business of how the district does.

District staff reviewed the composition of committees of insurance systems in other large Florida school and found no groups in Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Orange, Hillsborough and Duval includes members of the board.
Broward County Board members said Tuesday it was not necessary to be on the committee – that while they may discuss any change in length before a vote.

The Broward Teachers Union has criticized the number of board members of the commission is too high. BTU President Pat Santeramo also has a seat in the commission, although he and Dan Reynolds, president of the Public Employees Federation, ceased to attend meetings of protest earlier this year.
Santeramo said the insurance committee with members from the area too much and not enough on the contribution of employee groups.
The committee has had the same precinct number and the members representing workers, but not other-voting members are the staff and insurance consultants.
To maintain balance in the same vote, the Council shall remove a member of staff, and add two representatives of the Federation and the public service besides the three school board members.
