Makeup basics. Help! Only a beginner!?

I am just a beginner for makeup and I was wondering what would be the basics for a makeup kit ( brushes included). Product reccomenations and MAC equivalents ( for brushes)

if your just a beginner I would suggest starting with drugstore products and moving up to higher end ones. here’s what I’d suggest…

-foundation: I can’t really suggest a foundation because everyone has different skin types. But the Rimmel 25 hour foundation is what I use and it’s great for all skin types and wont break you out.
-eyeshadow: covergirl eyeshadows are great and inexpensive.
-mascara: most drugstore mascaras are in between 7 and 8 dollars. covergirl lashblast and maybelline’s the colossal is good. so is almay’s one coat dial up.
-pencil eyeliner: pencil eyeliner is great for the waterline. My favorite is revlon’s colorstay. L’Oreal infalliable is good too.
-liquid eyeliner: Good for the top lash line and winging out eyeliner. NEVER put on water line. NYC’s liquid eyeliner is my favorite.
-blush: higher end blushes are usually better, i’d go with revlon or maybelline
-lip gloss: Revlon has the best drugstore lipglosses in my opinion.
-lipstick: once again, REVLON! most drugstore lipsticks are good but I just like Revlon best.

As for brushes, I wouldn’t get too many. Maybe a shadow brush, crease brush, blush brush, and powder brush to start. Don’t get anything expensive. Try the E.L.F. studio line-they are fantastic!
