seriously will people take me serious in life if i become a makeup artist?

I know its not a normal serious job like a doctor or lawyer or teacher or accountant or nurse
but how come whenever someone says i want to be a actor, or model or singer or makeup artist or movie writer or anything creative no one takes them seriously in life?
