I want to be a writer, my dream is to work for a magazine, how can I do that?

I just graduated from college with a degree in Int'l. I wrote for my school newspaper, and in college I did the on / off. My dream is to write for a magazine like Marie Claire or Glamor. I do not pretend makeup tips or tricks like that, I want to bring issues of importance to young people in a fun and fees. The thing I do not know where to start. Does anyone have any ideas? Should I start a freelance and then hope to get a job in a magazine? Thank you! I appreciate it.

I'm so in the same situation! I'm leaving tomorrow, as an errand boy for a magazine. They will form in each field of entry level and move me to full time as soon as something opens. Accept any work you can in a magazine. That many publishers to promote from within so if you put on your resume that you are interested in writing, recall that when a position opens. Write newspaper editorials can be useful too. Ultimately, not classifying themselves. Just because your job objective end in Marie Claire or Glamor not mean you will be able to start there (I hope that writing for a technology magazine, but make an interior design magazine).
