Questions about cleaning brushes?

Sometimes I wash and dry just before using (they are a little wet when I use them). Is it this correct? So I let it dry out of the case (I'll leave it to dry overnight in place just before washing), or a buildup of bacteria?

The I put in little folds of times, but yes, I leave it to dry most of the time. do not use when wet.
