current makeup congress

Working in online advertising ICMediadirect.com me familiar with some of the major problems affecting our industry and, finally, how we use the Internet. Not the least is the issue of network neutrality that has been in the news lately. Caught my attention so I started investigate and found a surprising observation: Our representatives in Congress are working hard to decide the future of the Internet. We have much to say. But probably our phone companies.

Our Government in the Capitol has been busy with several bills dealing with our interactive called status quo "net neutrality". I see the net neutrality as an important element in a machine that holds the Internet unlimited free access and undivided. More specifically, Net neutrality refers to the absolute, or pay a tax on the transfer of information on telecommunications networks comprising a number of physical structure the Internet. Unfortunately, it appears that the potential for renewal of the Internet as a means of additional income for these large telecommunications entities to open their wallets and pressure groups such as skilled workers who are professionals.

Physically speaking the Internet is a mass of wiring owned by the guy who bought their services: cable, satellite, telephone and cellular providers. You know what? They want to charge either you or your content providers to speed the that moves inside. In other words, if you want a quick download, it will cost. (Or will it cost Microsoft?) Is apartheid, the Internet, basically, that discriminate against those not coughing. If these suppliers have their way, the Internet will change radically because they have the right to charge for the carriage of goods "corresponding" their property. You and I finally passed this cost.

Our side, "us" any person who likes to be no cost of extra bandwidth is not exempt from corporate sponsors. Top content providers like Google, Yahoo, eBay and Amazon.com have been written with Congress to enact legislation to protect net neutrality, to "save" the Internet. Play Superman on the Internet is good, but protecting existing business models that have been used so well. That's fine with me, because, frankly, the current Internet was fairly million Americans, too.

In the field of business, however, companies like AT & T and Verizon felt Google and eBay are getting free rides on the back of telecommunications. Collect the money from subscriptions to broadband is not satisfactory frameworks for telecommunications, which are astronomical run Google's stock and want some success for them. Overriding content providers, of course, could be a disaster Financial blue chip for many high tech companies that just happen to evolve the current structure of the Internet. We saw a multi-level compensation for Internet play. It seems unthinkable in 2006.

Personally, I think Al Gore has implemented a 2-tiered Internet, where when it was invented, you know, 10 years ago before knew what it was. Would have agreed. However, the Internet landscape very different. Several innovative companies today started as guppies has never been able to mature if they had to pay for the content to be delivered to the website of your customers / visitors. The Internet will probably become an engine of trade and much less dynamic, with freedom of speech and expression relegated to some public access, such as channels. Boring.

There is more at stake than corporate profits. According the Savetheinternet.com Coalition, the Internet is an engine of "crucial for economic growth and freedom of expression." Objective of this coalition is to represent Americans from all walks of life and to ensure Congress does not pass a telecommunications law without the presence of important protections of neutrality network.

Just this week, a bill to establish a permanent neutrality of the network was gunned down in Washington. The only ones who benefit are telecommunications (and some pressure groups). This does not mean that the fight is over. Years of hard struggle and compromise favors should be called to create a series of projects legislation to ensure that our stay on the Internet as accessible and beneficial than it was 15 years. Hopefully the boy is able to live with what is revealed.
