My roommate is a beautician. She swears by camel hair brushes. WHY? because they are soft and don’t irritate the skin. Also, when you apply the makeup, it doesn’t't leave lines, streaks or any marks that hard bristled brushes do. Same principle used when painting a room with hard bristles. the harder/stiffer the bristles are, the more lines/streaks the wall will have and more layers of paint will need to be used to leave an even coat(that doesn’ happen with camel hair brushes) MAC has good ones.
