Do I need a cosmetology license to be a makeup artist?

Let me be a makeup artist. "I can get a cosmetology license? if not, what am I going to get me a certified makeup artist? Also on schools offering a course without a cosmetology course design? Am located in Southern California! Thanks in advance for your help!

You definitely should not need a cosmetology license to be a makeup artist … unless who wants to work in a salon. Sampling is necessary. But to become an independent make up artist or a celebrity or working on a television program or a movie, it is not necessary. Get business cards, local artists and cosmetic contact to ask if they need help in photoshoots / marriage / whatever work which increased significantly. Sometimes you may only need someone to give them everything they need after the makeup and clean your brushes at the end, but the point is that you make connections. These are the people who pass along the information, if they ever gave a concert that can not take. Is there a portfolio? Otherwise, ASAP-start a make your own makeup, makeup for your friends, whatever, just do the makeup and the pictures take it. Get your photos printed in the CVS or something they are a full page in size and bright and unprofessional. Place these images in a folder of some sort and carry wherever you go, you never know when someone will have the opportunity to say or come to know here and you will not have his wallet.
