What do expiration dates on beauty products mean?

I don’t want to order proactive from the company but someone has offered to sell me expired proactive for very cheap.

ok the experation date is there because you might get a rash, or break out in acne horribly!!! i wouldnt do it if i were you! i just wouldnt take the chance, you dont want to have a big rash, or ZIT on you face, just because you wanted to save the money!!!I know these things, because my mom works in Philosophy!
